Nikka Gutierrez

Owner and Director

Nikka’s passion for dance started at the young age of 4. With no formal training she began dancing for family members using costumes her cousins would send her from Arizona. Her quiet demeanor never gave her the courage to get up in front of large crowds until she formally joined a dance team in middle school.

Nikka has been involved in the North Valley dance community for over 19 years. As a former Taft Middle School Dance Team member she competed at a National level all 3 years. Continuing her newfound confidence and passion she continued to dance in high school as a Valley Vikette. Through Vikettes she again had the opportunity to compete Nationally and helped bring in 7th in the Nation out of over 75 teams.

After high school, something in her life was missing…dance! Focused on helping young teens find the confidence dance had given her, she began coaching where her dance career started; Taft Middle School. She coached for 7 years at Taft and recently created “eNVy All Stars” in order to reach younger and older students who needed a team to call “Ohana” (family). Her coaching expertise has helped her dancers bring home an NDA West Coast Championship, as well as UDA top 10 Nationals Championship 3 years in a row. With a group of dedicated young girls by her side “eNVy” was ready to expand into a full All Star Studio!  She opened doors for the new studio in May of 2012 in the beautiful Noth Valley.

Nikka continues to stay up to date with the latest styles and trends in dance by continuing to dance with Albuquerque’s award nominated “Encore Dance Crew”. Her passion has allowed her to collaborate with some of the city’s best dancers and given her the opportunity to network and continue to bring the best to her dancers.

With the support of her Husband Andrew who witnessed her passion for dance 19 years ago at Taft, and her wonderful son Koah; dance has now been set into the heart of the yougest futire eNVy dancer her daughter AnaLyn, age 1.  She looks up to the "big girls" hoping to be one of them some day, practicing all her "spins" for anyone who will watch,

Andrew Lovato

Assistant Director

Andrew “Druski” Lovato has been dancing since the time he started to walk. His mother gave him the rhythm and confidence to dance as they kept themselves entertained while cleaning on Saturday mornings. At the age of 8, Andrew memorized and performed his first choreographed routine to a music video performed by Janet Jackson. Since then, Andrew joined his elementary schools drill team and joined many talent shows with dance numbers. In high school he joined school plays as a dancer. Andrew has danced with the Stars Dance Studio, and now he currently performs with an award nominated group called “Encore” who he helped create.

Ready for a new chapter in his life, Andrew took on the role of coach for the first time when studio doors opened. Coaching “eNVy” is the perfect fit since he was raised in the North Valley. With his life experiences in music and dance, his story will be told through his routines for his students to learn and perform. At the same time, he will learn from his students when he sees the same passion and drive to learn. Stepping out of the box, he is ready to bring something new and fresh.

Kathleen began her dance life when she was 5 yrs old.  She was a Spanish folk dancer with Ballet Folklorico de Santa Fe for the next 15 yrs.  Performing all over New Mexico for various events. During this time she began co-coaching with her mother for elementary school cheerleading and dance teams.  She branched out to coach elementary, junior high, and high school dance and cheer teams for 20yrs.

Kathleen began her own All Star dance team because her niece at age 6 had no outlet in town for her talent except ballet.  She called the team Santa Fe Stars it was Santa Fe’s first and only all star dance team.  The team was competitive and won many top awards in Hip Hop, Jazz, Pom and Lyrical.  The team consisted of children 3 yrs and up.  Mini, Youth, Juniors, Seniors teams all performing and competing.  One National title 7th place Hip Hop.  Kathleen was the Director and the coach for this team from  2001-2014.

Currently Kathleen is learning to become and B-girl and Freestyle dancer.  She has competed at Monsters of Hip Hop and taken 2nd place.  She has already battled in several break and all style battles.  She also trains and coaches her son age 11 who has traveled to many in state and out of state competition and has completed 3 local commercials as a dancer.

Kathleen is a wife to Carl Miller and mother to Diego Miller and they are her first loves.  She loves dancing in all forms and believes that anyone with hard work can learn to become a dancer.  She loves the children that she teaches as much as the dancing.  Choreography is her passion and must create when she hears music.  Kathleen believes that training someone to have passion, discipline and hard work  with anything will create a great human and an excellent employee someday.  The old saying you can do whatever you want in life is so much more reachable now.  The exciting part is Kathleen knows that there are so many more opportunities today for a dancer than there has ever been.
